NEET-UG counselling in other states
Each state runs its own NEET-UG counselling for state quota and private college seats. Bihar students can apply outside Bihar through MCC's all-India quota and deemed universities, and in several states for private college seats open to outside candidates. SG Global Education helps you pick the states worth registering in.

What a Bihar student can and cannot apply for
- Open to you everywhere: the 15% all-India quota in government colleges, central institutions and deemed universities, all through MCC.
- Open in some states: management or NRI quota seats in private medical colleges, where the state's rules admit candidates from other states. Fees for these seats are usually higher than the state's own quota.
- Generally closed: the state quota in another state's government colleges, which is reserved for that state's residents.
Domicile clauses, fee structures and bond conditions change every year and have been changed by court orders mid-season. We check the current prospectus of each state before suggesting you pay a registration fee there.
How we narrow it down
- Shortlist states where your rank has a real chance at a private college seat.
- Compare the published total cost, including hostel, deposit and any service bond.
- Track registration windows so an overlap with Bihar's rounds does not cost you a seat.
No seat exists outside counselling. Management quota and NRI quota seats are also filled from the NEET-UG merit list by the counselling authority. If anyone offers you a seat for cash without counselling, walk away, and report it to the National Consumer Helpline on 1915.
Questions people ask us
Can a Bihar student take MBBS admission in Uttar Pradesh or Karnataka?
Yes, through the all-India quota and deemed universities via MCC, and through private college seats in states whose prospectus admits candidates from other states. The government college state quota is generally limited to that state's residents.
Do I have to register separately in each state?
Yes. Each state has its own portal, registration fee and security deposit. Registering in too many states is expensive, so it helps to shortlist first.
Are private college fees the same across states?
No. Fees are fixed state by state and college by college, and differ by quota. Always work from the fee notice published for the current year.
Call before you fill a single choice
A ten-minute call is usually enough to tell you which counselling to register for and what is realistic. Keep these in front of you:
- NEET-UG score, rank and category
- Home district and domicile state
- Courses you would accept
- What your family can pay per year
