BAMS admission guidance
BAMS is a 5.5-year Ayurveda degree, including a one-year internship, regulated by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine. Admission needs a NEET-UG qualification. AACCC conducts the all-India counselling and, in Bihar, BCECEB conducts UGMAC (Ayush). SG Global Education guides you through both.

Eligibility for BAMS
- Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
- Minimum age of 17 by 31 December of the admission year.
- A NEET-UG qualification for the year. BAMS has no separate entrance test.
Two counsellings, both separate from MBBS
AACCC, the Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee, fills the 15% all-India quota in government and government-aided Ayush colleges, and seats in deemed universities, central universities and national institutes.
BCECEB fills Bihar's state quota and private Ayush college seats through UGMAC (Ayush). For the 2026-27 session BCECEB issued the UGMAC (Ayush) notice on 18 September 2026, opened registration on 21 September, and announced four online rounds. According to that notice the counselling fee is Rs 1,200 (Rs 600 for SC, ST and DQ candidates opting only for government colleges), with a refundable security deposit of Rs 10,000 for government colleges and Rs 50,000 where private colleges are opted.
Ayush counselling starts after MBBS counselling is under way. Students who do not get the MBBS or BDS seat they wanted often still have time to register.
No seat exists outside counselling. Management quota and NRI quota seats are also filled from the NEET-UG merit list by the counselling authority. If anyone offers you a seat for cash without counselling, walk away, and report it to the National Consumer Helpline on 1915.
Ayurveda colleges in Bihar
Bihar's government Ayurveda colleges include the Government Ayurvedic College in Patna, and there are private Ayurveda colleges across the state. Which colleges are permitted to admit in a given year depends on NCISM's permission for that session, so we check the current seat matrix rather than an old list.
What we do for a BAMS aspirant
- Confirm the college has NCISM permission for this session before it goes on your list.
- Register you correctly for AACCC and UGMAC (Ayush), which have different deposits and exit rules.
- Compare government and private fees for the full course.
- Check documents before verification.
