BVSc and AH admission guidance
BVSc and AH is a 5.5-year veterinary degree including a one-year internship. For Bihar students there are two routes, both on NEET-UG scores: the Veterinary Council of India's 15% all-India quota, and BCECEB's UGMAC counselling for seats under Bihar Animal Sciences University. SG Global Education guides you through both.

Eligibility for BVSc and AH
You need Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and a NEET-UG score for the year. The minimum marks and age are set by the Veterinary Council of India's standards of veterinary education and repeated in each counselling notice.
The two routes
VCI all-India quota. The Veterinary Council of India fills 15% of the seats in recognised government veterinary colleges across India through its own online counselling, using NEET-UG ranks. It needs a separate registration from MCC.
Bihar state counselling. BCECEB includes BVSc and AH and BFSc in UGMAC, the same counselling as MBBS and BDS. In 2026 registration opened on 10 August. Bihar Veterinary College, Patna is the state's main veterinary college, under Bihar Animal Sciences University. Candidates claiming the university's ward quota need a certificate from the Registrar of the university.
Veterinary colleges in other states admit through that state's veterinary university or counselling authority. Some use NEET-UG and some use their own test, so check before assuming.
What we do for a BVSc aspirant
- Register you for VCI and UGMAC, which run on different dates.
- Place BVSc sensibly against BDS, BAMS and BHMS in your preferences.
- Check the documents and category certificates each authority asks for.
